Palgrave Ontario is a quaint community in the Town of Caledon. It is situated approximately 10 minutes from the town of Bolton, and roughly an hour commute from downtown Toronto. Nestled perfectly within the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Area, this community, like many in the area, consists of hilly terrain formed by glaciers moving across the land.
Incredibly friendly and picturesque, Palgrave is easily accessible to both urban conveniences like shops, services and amenities, but is also surrounded by the simpler beauty of the nearby conservation areas, nature trails, and breathtaking wilderness. One particular landmark in this lovely community is the increasingly popular Caledon Equestrian Centre, which will be home to the Equestrian portion of the 2015 Pan Am Games. Hosting the Pan Am Games has had a huge impact on the community’s economy, with many local businesses ramping up their services and offerings to better represent this growing niche market.
Looking to get active in the great outdoors? There’s no shortage of trails near the community, with Palgrave Trail, connections to the Bruce Trail, Albion Hills Conservation Area and many more all within close proximity. With incredible wild life and picturesque views, these very well maintained trails are excellent for summer hikes and winter cross-country skiing as well. The number of nearby conservation areas offer events and programs year round, that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
Peel District and Catholic District School Boards provide fantastic programs for youth of all ages in Palgrave. Palgrave Public School, one of the best ranked schools in Ontario is located here. Palgrave residents are also served by other nearby Caledon schools that offer Catholic and French Immersion curriculums such as Humberview Secondary, James Bolton Public School, Pope John Paul II Catholic Elementary School in Bolton and Robert F Hall Catholic Secondary School, which is located in Caledon East.
In addition to the wonderful schools, nature and other attractions, Palgrave is just a short drive from many major retailers, amenities and services in nearby Bolton, King City, and Newmarket. It is also just minutes to Hwy 400, providing quick access to all other corners of the GTA!
As with much of the Town of Caledon, the inventory of homes available for sale in Palgrave varies quite a bit. In addition to the more modest homes that range in price from $450,000-$550,000, there are also a few highly exclusive pockets where home values start at $1million and increase from there. The luxurious Pines of Palgrave or Pine Forest Estates area is just one such exclusive pocket in the area, where homes sit on sprawling lots surrounded by incredible green space.
