In almost two decades of being a realtor and showing more houses than we can count, we have come to notice that a lot of buyers complain when a house is painted in dark colours.
Reds, blues, greys, browns. Even black. Yes. Completely Black walls and ceilings.
Everyone has their own taste and style and we completely respect that...but when selling a home it’s important to consider what would attract more buyers rather than one’s personal taste.
We always say, once you move into your new home, it’s a whole new blank canvas to make your own and add your personal touch again. Dark colours and all. ?? But In our experience, Majority of the time buyers prefer light, bright spaces that feel open and airy.
That being said, you can always get creative and combine the two. This homeowner brought both light and bright and dark and bold together perfectly.
Loving this dark accent wall, even incorporating dark doors and trim!
It’s not over powering yet adds so much character. ????

But who are we to judge???
we’re just noticing the repetitive pattern of comments from buyers throughout the years.
