Recently, I had a familiar childhood riddle explained to me, and it blew me away. It was an explanation and concept I'd never considered. The riddle? 'Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side'. The chicken just wanted to be on the other side of the road, right? Ha ha. Not so...apparently, as explained to me, the chicken had some sort of death wish and had a desire to 'go to the other side'. Weird huh? Kinda like the nursery rhymes we sang as kids that seemed sweet and innocent, but were anything but. Recall Ring Around the Rosey? A catchy children's song depicting Black Death, or the plague.
Odd isn't It? Things we think we know and understand, that just aren't so. How do my rather morbid ponderings relate to real estate? Misconceptions. When things aren't correctly explained, and we assume we know what's going on. I pride myself in explaing terms, conditions and clauses to clients, in simple terms, to eliminate all and any misconceptions. From the outside looking in, the buying and selling of properties may look fairly straight forward and simple, when in fact, sometimes this just isn't the case. Zoning laws, client vs customer relationships, multiple representations, fine print, lawyer speak, it can be overwhelming. I make it part of my job to ensure all aspects of your real estate transaction is explained fully, and that you understand. And I don't move forward until I'm sure you get It! I've heard time and time again from individuals unhappy with their Realtors, that they just didn't know what was going on. The processes weren't explained properly, they felt rushed and confused, and ultimately, remorseful.
